Saturday, February 26, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. NORTHPORT WINTER CARNIVAL at Braman Hill Recreation Area. Register in advance at Northport Fitness or Hunting Bank for "Snowmobile Poker Run,” “Broomball Tournament,” “Milk Jug Curling,” the “Race the Face” snowshoe race, and the Chili Contest. Those without snowshoes may borrow them at and for the event.. Free hot dogs and hot chocolate for all!

Friday, March 23, 2012: Leelanau Launch of DUST TO DUST: A MEMOIR, by Benjamin Busch, 4-6 p.m. Public cordially invited. Refreshments will be served. I am predicting a great future for this talented writer-photographer-actor-filmmaker Marine, and we are very fortunate to have his Up North book tour starting in Northport!
