There are two more evenings in the library summer series. Tuesday, July 22, is Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli, mystery writer, and Tuesday, July 29, is our annual round-robin poetry night. Both will be great fun, so don't miss if you're in town.

A pig roast and family festival to benefit the Leelanau Children's Center is coming up on Saturday, July 26.

Saturday, August 9, will be the long-awaited Northport Dog Parade, a highlight of every summer. This year's theme is "Indiana Bones and the Treasures of the Lost Bark."  The Leelanau Food and Wine Festival is also that day, and the Fly-In at Woolsey Airport is the following Saturday, August 16, which should also be the second of the three days of pow-wow at Peshawbestown, another wonderful once-a-year event.
